Subject: '86 900 loosing power

My 900 (8v, 150k mi.) has been loosing power lately, (not that much to begin with, so any loss is noticable). At low rpms, under acceleration, the engine is very rough. For example, in gears 2-5, in the 1200 to 2000 rpm range, the motor runs very rough. Get it above 2k and it smooths out. However, I also notice it in 5th gear and nearly need to floor the throttle just to go 65 mph. I've recently replaced plugs, wires, dist. rotor & cap, fuel filter, and checked (visually) for vacuum leaks. Any suggestions about what might be going on? My fuel pump is beginning to buzz a little, so I know this will soon need to be replaced. However, I don't think this problem is symptomatic of the dying fuel pump. Any advice appreciated. ____________________________________________________________________ Greg Youngen youngennopsam.edu
