Thanks for writing that, Gary. And wow, what a disappointment. I always buy used cars. Right now, I have a 1995 9000CS that I bought in 2000. I hope to own it through 2005 or beyond. After that, I was thinking I would get a 9-5 wagon, but given what you wrote, perhaps I won't. VW is looking better every year. I test drove a couple of Passats when I was shopping in 2000. Very impressive. The handling beat the pants off the Saab, and the Passat wagon's utility was about the same. The funny thing was that VW started out as lower priced as new but was higher priced as used. That was one reason I bought another (my third) Saab. Two other reasons: I had steel wheels with snow tires already; and my daughters like the reading lights in the rear seats. I suppose I could install reading lights, though. Tom
