How do you feel it > affected your 96's performance? How large of a tank do you have? Not only old carbureted 4strokes, also modern injection 16v turbos can run on LPG.... My 96 uses about 10% more LPG than petrol and it is a bit less responsive, but it I am not a V4 performance freak, so the lower driving cost and engine & environmental friendlyness of LPG outweigh those (minor) disadvantages. The car has its original petrol tank and a 40 liter LPG tank in the luggage compartment, behind the rear seat. I can switch from LPG to petrol and back while driving. The heads have valve seat inserts. Here are some more sites that explain about usage of LPG in cars; http://www.autogas-forum.de/de-version/ http://www.dimaautogas.nl/eng.html http://www.worldlpg.com/ http://www.vialle.nl/ and there are many more... At the 2001 SAAB owners meet in Finland there was a man who ran his 900 on wood gas, see http://members.tripod.com/mhilvers/events/finland/900woodgas.jpg and http://members.tripod.com/mhilvers/events/finland/woodgen.jpg or http://members.tripod.com/mhilvers/events/finland/ellivuori.htm ------------------------------------------- MH '72 97 '77 96 '78 95 '79 96 http://go.to/saab96
