I drive in a snowy area. I have never had a problem in any car, let alone a Saab. Saabs seem to go anywhere in the snow on all seasons. If you add snow tires, you can pull out stuck SUV's. Snow tires are nice, but in most areas of the USA they do a good job of clearing the highways down to a drivable surface within a day. Your snow tires only come into use if you are out traveling during the few days that it is actually snowing heavily. On most other days you are driving on a tire which is very poorly designed for wet or dry pavement, handles poorly, and is noisy. Considering how few days I actually find myself driving home in a blinding snow storm, I go with performance all-seasons and compromise a little in the winter and a little in the summer. Bob
