I have an 86 900T as well. I bought it with 185K mi on it. The previous owner had installed a new clutch at about 150K. I had the tranny replaced at 275K and my mechanic told me the clutch was still at 80% good, so I left it alone. The car is at 303K now with no clutch problems. A disclaimer, though. My driving is 90 percent leisure, highway driving. I ride a bike or bus to get to work, so no stop and go driving for me! Your clutch mileage may vary.
