In fact, it's an *anti*safety feature since you are forced to leave the car in gear and most folks probably start it that way. Seems really odd without a clutch interlock switch - which I've had on all my recent cars with manual tranny's except the Saab. In a recent Saab, you would need to disable "coded key" system _and_ the transmission interlock. You're taking down the anti-theft features one-by-one to save a couple of minutes of cold. Not to mention, remote starters crank the engine an excessive amount since they are not as good as you at recognizing ignition. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me overall. MHO, Bob
