I narrowed down the problem by testing the motor from the reservoir by applying a direct current - it proved to work. Luckily, I had a spare stalk from my old '88 900 so I tried the wiring look with the replacement switch/stalk and it worked. I didn't bother trying to repair the stalk that I removed from the car. I suppose cleaning the contacts, as suggested, would have done the trick. Paul 1985 900i 16V 1989 900 Turbo S http://pjgh.go.dyndns.org/saab/index.html
