Or even worse - ever driven on snows on a 70 > degree February thaw day? actually, i run with nokian NRWs (real snow tires) year-round. in the winter (front range of colorado with plenty of trips to the mountains), they perform great, and in the summer, they don't seem to make for significantly more noise or worse gas mileage than the OEM tires did. perhaps if i was a really aggressive driver, i'd notice some difference in handling, but it hasn't been an issue for me.
