I'm amazed that BMW would expose themselves to the liability of using a product which even the manufacturer says shouldn't be used for any applications where life safety is at stake (control systems, medical diagnostics, etc). The reports of critical things going wrong under iDrive is amusing in one way, but damn scary in another. I wonder how long it'll be until someone ports it to Linux. Dave Hinz
