Could they have >done it incorrectly? Nope. Typically, new belts 'stretch' after installation. Usually the shop will tell you to drop back in to have it 'retightened' to specs. If you don't, you will have the issues that you are talking about. If it can't spin up properly, it will not be able to produce the correct amount of output it should be producing. On the other hand, if alternator has water in it or is otherwise defective, (bad bushings/bearings/windings, etc), then the weather could be affecting it. I'd drop in to a shop and have them check the tension. Or DIY. It's fairly easy. Brandon
