At about 140,000 miles, I put Mobil 1 into my 1986 900T. It blew out the seals at the main bearings, costing me about $350 to pay a mechanic to replace. He recommended strongly against synthetic. I realize the risk is virtually non-existant with newer cars, since there hasn't been enough time to build up sludge. What does your owner's manual say? Synthetic may be better in some ways, but since my owner's manual recommends regular oil, it can't be bad for the car! -- Tom Reingold IT Guy looking for opportunities in NJ or NYC to enhance your business http://whatexit.org/~tommy/resume-func-tlr.html
