Saab specify 10W30 engine oil for the gearbox. This works fine. However, as the boxes get old, and the synchros start to wear, there are better alternatives. Redline MTL is great, and I would definitely use it again. Honda MTF is also pretty good, and significantly cheaper than redline. -- Grunff
