Subject: Automatictransmission problem

Hello everyone, I have a small problem with transmission during cold weather. When it gets below freezing I can hardly get my Saab to start rolling. Engine revs up, but barely any power is getting to the wheels. After one or two minutes of "slow motion" driving it gets back to normal. Somebody told me to change transmission fluid to synthethic one. Has anybody tried that with good results? Transmission has been recently adjusted by Saab mechanic. My car is US model Saab 900 '87 and I drive it in Poland. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Don
