Wow sounds good. Congrats. and a big Yeah, to your insurance company for giving the payout to sort it. > There are a couple of little niggles though, which I'll be ironing out > presently :) > > 1. If youi drive with the audio off, listen at gear changes too, maybe with the window down. Mine started just at startup, with a Quack/mooing sound, but after a while it started (quieter) on gear changes too, when you close the throttle. It was making full boost then. As it is a such a tight fit, after twisting it to the open position, I had to use a screw driver to lever it off to stretch the spring. Since then, the heater controls don't hiss so loudly, the quack has gone, but now it hisses, and I only get base boost, so I reckon that I've either cracked or stretched something, and it is now leaking vacuum. > 2. Don't have the oil pressure gauge so can't help, but I'm sure that pressure goes and up and down as normal, best thing would be find the upper and lower limits at idle and different driving speeds, and make sure they are within normal operating pressures. > 3. Mine doesn't leak, and it looks like it has been removed at some point because there is a little sealant seapage arround the cam cover, that is orange/coper in colour. > 4. When I had the hoses off for fitting the dumpvalve, I noticed myself that both the pre and post turbo intake hoses were coated with a layer of wet oil. Grunff reckoned this was normal, because of the breather that routes into the pre intake breather hose. > Once these bits are done, she'll be top notch. > > The paint job is excellent - you really wouldn't know it's the same car :) > I've had new discs & pads on the front and new pads on the rear in with the > price. So glad you are happy with the finsih. Maybe best not to mess with the quack till you find a replacement tank/cannister. -- Carl Robson The poster formally known as Skodapilot. http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
