Fuel pumps are very specific for each model/year Classic 900. When I priced out the fuel pump at an independent shop, they wanted the VIN, as the fuel pumps even varied within a model year depending on when it was made. That is not to say another fuel pump won't be functional, but the engine may not perform properly due to too high or low pressure in the fuel line. Based on the VIN, the shop determined the fuel pump in my Classic could be fixed with just a new check valve.
