Subject: How do you convince your wife that a c900 is a wise choice?

Well, the time has come to buy another car, but opinions as to what to buy and what purpose to put it to are - shall we say divided. This would be a second car - the 9000 is staying we're agreed on that. This car will replace our '91 Nissan Micra. My wife wants a newer, pretty (for want of a better word), automatic with the same sort of point and squirt power as our ~200bhp 9000. I would then use the 9000 as my daily driver - not an unattractive thought in itself, but I would rather have something a little cheaper to run. My wife thinks that a Rover 200, Renault Megane, Peugeot 307 or 607!!!, Ford Focus would fit the bill - All of which seem to be a very different mix to me - what do they have in common? I have a shortlist of 4 cars - and have come to realise that I have been bitten by the SAAB bug hard. I would like a c900 T16S or Aero, which are available at a purchase price that doesn't require financing. (my other choices are a 9-3 SE, 9000 Aero or maybe a 9-5 something). Trouble with the c900 is it's a bit ugly - far too ugly in fact for my wife's sensibilities. Trouble with getting another SAAB is the perceived running costs - not helped by the fact that it cost around £900 about 3 years ago when a timing chain guide broke and the whole set of chains, sprockets, tensioners and guides were replaced (including balance shaft components). Whats a guy to do? AndyH '94 9000 CDE
