Having read Matt Faulks's article on Saab Central about changing the radio cassette to a newer model, and Having a Pro-Plus CD player waiting to go in, just to be on the safe side I ordered a Saab c900 (1979-1993) audio loom -> ISO adaptor, because I didn't imagine for a second that the car of the age that mine is ('84) would be ISO from the start. So after nearly 2 weeks waiting for the shop to get one in, I collect it. Bring it home, and go to connect it up. Pop out the old old Clarion (eventually), and what do I find? Loads of individual wires, all with different kinds of connectors? How the bloody hell am I supposed to fit that to the adaptor I have. BTW, these are butchered cables, these are the original Saab/Clarion conectors and wiring? Any tips? Do the individual wires all plug into the Saab side of the adaptor? Paul Halliday suggested using a generic ISO connector and some spades from Maplin, and making my own adaptor harness, but I would rather try to use the one I have at the moment, and not cut and butcher cables so i can refit the original Saab R/C if and when I sell the car on.
