Subject: Headlight problem, highbeams always on - 88 900s

Hi, I'm having problems with my headlights on a 1988 900s. Most of the time the lights are stuck on High beam and I'm unable to get them to low beam. When this occurs the high beam indicator light on the dashboard does not light up. Sometimes if I turn them off and on several times it'll work properly. Now here's where it gets weird, if the car is cold, I can count on the lights coming on High, if I toggle to low, they immediately go back to high(still no indicator light). Once the car has been running a few minutes it'll go to low and stay there. If I put them to High, the indicator light does light up. But once that happens, it usually won't go back to low beam. The only way to get them back to low is to turn them off and on a few times. I spoke to my mechanic about it(a Saab specialist) and he has never seen anything like this before. I'm leaning towards faulty relays, but I really don't want to buy new ones til I'm sure. Anyone ever see this happen? and know the fix? Thanks in advance, Al nomorezpam a(t) h0tmail dot com
