Subject: Re: oily exhaust smell through HVAC vent on 1995 900s non-turbo

Two thoughts: first, that the seal around the heater recirc/outside air flap on the air intake box under the hood/bonnet isn't adequately sealing (long soft floppy rubber seal on underside of hood/bonnet) to the louvers in the hood/bonnet, so that air from around the engine is pulled into the HVAC system; (when on recirc the door closes off the opening, shutting out air from the outside as well as from inside the engine bay) second, that there is an oil leak, likely onto something hot, that is making fumes in the engine bay; Both might be worth checking both?
