Subject: Re: weird oil filter in my 900 classic "Frantz?"

I found the receipt for the system in my owner's papers. I called the people, and they said yes, it is a bypass filter, and a very good one. And, you stuff the roll in very tight. It is not actually toilet paper, it is filter paper rolled around a hard core, and they are way more expensive than toilet paper, or even conventional oil filters. I don't see how this is going to be better than OE filters changed regularly, but it is there, so I will leave it. The engine is 70,000Km into a total rebuild which was done at 240,000. You would guess the car had at most 80,000 on it, so I think I will give the first owner (I am the second)the benefit of the doubt. Thanks for the info, Robobass
