As an '02 9-3 convertible owner, I actually chose the car because of the lack of boy racer pretensions. It sits higher than similar cars, and on real world California roads with cracks and high curbs that is a huge asset. All me previous cars were fashionably low European cars, and I damaged the lower front of the car too often for my taste. Also, the 9-3 model is set up acceptably hard (sports package with 17 inch wheels), in fact of anything I'd like a slightly more compliant ride over harsh bumps, for it does tend to crash somewhat, and as the previous messages indicate it'll acquaint you with body flex, which long-term I assume leads to a cacophony of annoying interior sounds if not kept in check... If there was a way to improve chassis rigidity, I'd probably would be interested (the front bar across the engine bay looks quite flimsy). I'd think long and hard before radical changes in chassis set-up, they're seldom for the better when the factory engineers aren't in the loop... ...pablo
