I do hope that no one follows your suggestionwhich is probably conversationally close to something like "f--- off" but is a contraction of "sodomy" or "sodomize'. Actually means literally the same as "bugger off". But buggery has been lost in the antiquity of the Royal Navy and so the term has lost much of its sting ( I graduated from The Canadian Naval Academy: Royal Roads). Buggery now falls under "fraternization" which is still forbidden under the military code. Sorry "old bean" I did not mean to be taken so harshly. Malcolm
