Subject: Re: What to call the "new" 9-3 ?

When someone says "my '03 9-3 Vector" (or Arc or Linear)... where's the room for misunderstanding? Same with '02 9-3 convertible, or '01 9-3 hatchback. I don't see how it's different from old Saab models. A "Saab 99" might be any number from very different things. As might a Saab 900. You have to specify model, year, engine type, and if relevant configuration. With that information, the "New 9-3" becomes self-explanatory as well. Arguably, 900 modls in the 80s and 90s are *worse*, because there's nothing like Arc or Vector or such to discern between 4 door and 2 door configuration, all it was is the turbo or sometimes S addition to the 900 designation. ...pablo
