I don't like Mac's either. Apple screwed themselves by keeping it proprietary all those years and keeping prices high as a result. Even when they said they'd open up the platform to other vendors, they kept it so tight that prices are still too high. With the resulting lack of popularity, software is less prevalent and higher priced too. PC's, OTOH, have had open architecture for a long time, leading to dramatic reductions in prices in hardware. True, it's a PITA to add something about 50% of the time you try to. With 10,000+ hardware manufacturers and evolving standards, you're going to have problems. But, they are not insurmountable. Many of the problems can be bypassed by buying commercial quality components and not clone ware. It's also best to avoid the mainstream companies as they have a penchant for building proprietary systems that work with only their components. Software is also highly discounted due to the size of the market. I come up with reasons to hate PC's and Windows on a daily basis, but it's still the best choice. Bob
