Subject: Re: a couple of 2003 9-3 questions

I have the Australian version of the 9-3 Vector (2.0t engine), bought just under a month ago, and love it. My only comments are the colour (black needs constant cleaning!), a small intermittent vibration noise in the front passenger door, and the auxilary input to the sound system (for MP3 player or similar) being unavailable in AUS. Everything else is just brilliant. Coming from a very zippy 2 litre Peugeot 306, I was worried about the performance but have not yet been disappointed. Incidentally, I've had the same problem with the radio recently. I had the dealer fit the car kit about a couple of week ago, and all was fine until last week when the radio wouldn't turn on. Pressing all the buttons and restarting the car had no effect until I made a phone call, and hey-presto, the radio was back. I'm going to get my dealer to re-check all the wiring/connections and until then, I'm trying to remember to put the phone in the holder after starting the engine... If my dealer comes up with anything, I'll post it back here. By the way - SAAB have a central contact number here (dont know if other contries have the same), and the service and response in regards to all the techo questions has been excellent. cheers, Richard "Tom" <t.m.brandtsnopsam.nl> wrote in message news:b6251u$uuf$1nopsam2.tilbu1.nb.home.nl... > > what problems are you thinking of? > > Well, my current '02 9-3 2,0lpt now and then (once in about 20 times) starts > 'without audio related display (RDS etc.) and the buttons on the steering > wheel not working at all and the lights of the radio related buttons off' > When I restart the engine or manually switch on/off the radio a couple of > times it starts working again properly. > Also when I drive over a bumpy road sometimes a rather loud 'poc' sound > comes from the speakers. > It all started after I had my cellphone built in (by the dealer) > To me it looks like some kind of connection not making good contact.
