Subject: Why did Saab do this?

Hi guys & gals, I wonder if someone could explain the function of the shaped indent under the glove box in the classic 900? The following picture should explain: http://www.pjgh.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/saab/inga2/source/inga_-_interior.html Directly under the glove box, there is an area of the lower dash that makes a shaped indent. If you run your hand under the glove box, it feels like a handle. I'm baffled as to what this could be for. My only thought is that it might fit a Saab accessory baby seat that can be snapped in place under here. Any thoughts? Paul 1989 900 Turbo S http://saab.go.dyndns.org/
