I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure most Mac users were already advocating Macs before OSX came out (and they probably put down Linux users at the same time). Pre-OSX Macs had even less in common with Linux/Unix than Windows PC's. They didn't even have commandline interfaces. Apparently Mac users don't really care what they use unless it has the shiny Mac logo on it... Yes, I like Macs a lot more than I used to since they have OSX, but I still hate the subculture of cool-for-cool-sake followers around them. X.
