Subject: Whoa! That's better ...

Hi guys & gals, I picked up my Orca (900 T8) this lunchtime with the atmospheric dump valve fitted. Rather than weld a stub onto the intercooler to throttle housing pipe, my garage fitted a throttle housing from a 16V 900. Well, what a difference. Turbo lag is practically gone. I was told this would be the major benefit of fitting such a device, but I hadn't thought it would be that good. Hard driving from standstill is a blast and the car just charges through the gears without any hesitation. It's the best money I've spent on the car and would advise all fellow T8ers out there to have one fitted. I had the Forge Motorsport FMDV004 fitted and it's not that noisy; very much in keeping with the stealthy nature of the Saab. On the downside though, I was supplied with the wrong wastegate actuator. I re-checked base boost this evening and set it at 0.32 bar (in accordance with the specified base boost for a T8) and was very happy indeed with the performance. It's so nice to get things set up again as they would have been when the car came out of the factory over ten years ago. Thanks again to all who gave public and private advice about the parts and fitting. Paul <----- Still grinning 1989 900 Turbo S http://saab.go.dyndns.org/
