It is not the same part. Furthermore, you do most likely not have to buy the whole antenna assembly. The mast can be bought separately at a much lower price. The normal failure mode for these antennas is that the owners do not perform the simplest preventive maintenance on them -- cleaning. Each time the antenna mast is retracted it will pull in dirt, salt, et.c. and after a while the motor wil no longer be able to extend and/or extract the mast. I don't think this problem is unique to Saab. If the mast can't be resurected by cleaning it can bew replaced with a new mast. -- G–ran Larsson http://www.nospam.com/saab/
