Subject: Racing and stalling idle

Hi group, I'm probably asking a question that you have all answered before, but here it is anyway. My 91 900T (I thought it was a 900, but apparently the VIN Code M says it's a '92, surprised me) just got a head and turbo from my last 91 900T, which had died from a rear-ender by a truck pushing it into a fat Mercedes. It sounds great now, but it has this racing and stalling problem, depending on how warm the engine is. If had driven it a couple of hours ago it will race until everything warms up, unless I cut off the ignition momentarily then it comes back to a nice 700rpm idle. I can't hear any vac leaks. I read it might be a temp sensor at the EGR on the internet. Also, can I pull out the EGR? What about thew Modulating valve? Can I remove the vacuum tank? I got a bulletin from an old recall procedure from 1992 and it says to do this, and replace theECM, which I'd rather not do. Can you folks enlighten me? Joe 84 900, 91 900T & 92?!
