It's more up around my shoulder blades, which are a few inches higher than the seat thinks they should be. The lumbar support could be higher, too, but the lumbar adjust only moves it in/out, not up/down, unless I'm really confused. I suspect your tall friend hasn't taken any long drives in your car. :-\ Gary
