Just wondering - I don't think that is outrageous - but sometimes highly tuned cars aren't noted for longevity. 1 year to a problem seems kind of soon, though. I would check the obvious suspects first (oxygen sensor, ignition system, and so on) before getting worried. I had a car (Nissan Maxima) that was sometime running rough when cold, and the power seemed kind of low - when I took it in, I found out the ignition coils were faulty, got them replaced, and suddenly the car runs better than I had it, new!
