At my rate of mileage, 300,000 miles would take 30 years and cost ukp36000 = $57000 in petrol alone at 30mpg! As long as the repairs falls under consumerables, they are bearable. My Saab 9000 CSE has done 91k, but what impresses me is that the engine is running smooth as new, no hesitation or poor running. Well, it hasn't always been like that, there has been a mid-life crises, possibly brought about by some abuse by the previous owner or his offspring; head gasket, DI, clutch, gearbox overhaul, timing chain, catalyst. However, it is presently just working without any fuss, better that many fresh new cars I believe. But how long will it lasts? Johannes
