Subject: Re: What Convertible for 8K in UK

Check out the posting titled "Tonneau Motor". I am told the convertibles in the mid '90's have many problems with 6 electric motors used to operate the opening and closing of the top. There was a recall on the timing belt tensioners in the late '90's. Unfortunately my car had not been serviced and while driving the belt went out and did major damage (heads, etc.). The local Saab dealer estimated $10,500 to repair. My local service dept repaired for $4,500. 4 months later the belt went out again. I was told the replacement tensioners were "faulty". The repair was done again with no charge to me. Make sure you go to and check out the car before purchasing it. Good luck.
