There's no buzzer but also no lights on. The only danger is that the next time you use the car might be in bright sunlight and you could find yourself driving around with headlights on without knowing it. Leave the switch in the side light (parking light to Americans) position and the lights will stay on when you turn the ignition off, but there is a warning ding if you take the key out and open the driver's door while these lights are on. Note that this applies to UK specification cars which are not fitted with any sort of daytime running lights. Martin
