Subject: Engine Light on challenge

Ok, here's the story... Saab 9000 2.0T 1992 went in for a service at a local guy, not dealer. Straight away, when my wife picked it up, she noticed that the "Check engine" light was on - it was fine pre-service. Now, bearing in mind that this is the same vehicle that had the head off two weeks prior and is going back in again next week for the same again (suspected crack not checked for when the head was replaced.) :( However, the light wasn't on when I drove it immediately having had the gasket changed, only comes on since the service. Yesterday I took it to a main dealer for diagnosis yet there are no stored faults. They couldn't pin it down, plugs are suspected ok. They wonder about an air mass meter or ECU. A bit more detail, when idling, no light, touch the throttle, it comes on, floor it light goes off. On overrun, the light flickers and for the past two days, for the first mile after a cold start isn't on in any condition but then behaves as above. Answers on a postcard please and I'll notify the winner when it is finally resolved :) 3 weeks ago, I had a great car! :( David.
