In article <bchiao$ip7rg$1nopsam44385.news.dfncis.de>, ngnopsamch.fsnet.co.uk spouted forth into alt.autos.saab... > How much (in hours and GBP) would I expect to be charged for an > independent SAAB garage to replace said bearing? > > Well, I recently had to have the same thing done myself on the right hand side front. I don't have any kind of workshop to speak of, so i used the carage that I used to use for all my old Skoda repairs. They used to be be a Skoda main dealer, and became a MrClutch when they lost the Skoda frachise in the VAG shuffle). They charged me £140 inc VAT for the job. They said according to their price book, a rear would be near twice that. They said "The Right hand rear looked a bit dry, but did I want to leave it for now, I reckon it is best leaving for now". Sounds good, they could have took me for the other £200ish and I would have had to pay. Thats why I always use them. They tell you if you have a problem, but they also tell you if something is worth watching too. -- Carl Robson (The poster formerly known as Skodapilot) http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
