The thing is, with a fuel delivery problem I would expect the performance
to lag while driving it, which it doesn't. The car only behaves badly at
idle.
I've always had a fairly quirky idle on this car, but I've never been able
to isolate a cause. Can't find any vacuum leaks, and tried swapping out
the AIC valve, but that didn't help either. Basically, the idle speed
hunts up and down at a steady rate. Turning on the A/C exacerbates the
problem quite a bit. One mechanic thought it might be the ECU, but
swapping with a known good one made no difference.
: I assume you've changed the plugs and air filter ?
I checked the air filter and it's pretty clean. Plugs only have about
7,000 miles on them, but I'll probably take a look at them. Fuel filter
was done at the same time as the plugs.
