Yes, but those folks are usually those that eventually buy new, and drive the car the first 60,000 miles or so to avoid old-age problems in a car. They would be unwilling to spend $150/mo on repairs on an old car, but perfectly happy spending $200-500/mo on a newer car. But, if it weren't for those folks, the people who like to drive their car until it no longer works would be out of luck!
