A small concern of mine too as my 9000 is soon to roll is
100,000th mile. Probably worth noting that, AFAIK, the
US market only had the 2.3l engine and so there is more
torque through the gearbox. Make sure the transmission
fluid is a good clear red colour and not brown with a burnt
smell. Regular replacement of the transmission fluid and
filter can only help - some people flush 2 or 3 times when
changing the fluid because only about 1/2 of the fluid can
be drained. Doing it a few times means that 75-90% of
the fluid gets replaced.
