a mechanic has diagnosed this problem - oil burning in the exhaust at idle, then going away (or not being obvious) at higher speeds - as hardened rubber in the valve seats (is this the correct term?). Oil would drip on idle but less so at higher speeds because of the vacuum. does this sound like the problem? I'm about to put it into mhis hands.
