It was Saturday and the locals could not get a part until Monday (today) and one of us had to go to work. I noted that the clutch gave a little notice the day before it went to the floor. I just thought that I had screwed up on shifting. When it failed I had my lady friend pump the clutch and I could see some fluid wetting the hose. I noted that the fluid evaporated within minutes after wetting the clutch housing. You could have a slow leak in the hose and never see it. The shared reservoir has a partition. The clutch partition is much higher and smaller than the brake partition. One discovers this when you try to bleed the clutch. The reservoir has to be filled to the very top during bleeding to keep air from entering the clutch system. I am not looking forward to the bill. I suspect it will be over $200 for 20 minutes work but they have you by the short hairs. What happened to the days when one could go into a auto store and buy brake line by the foot and various fittings and hoses and make up any system you wanted to? I think it may have something to do with too many lawyers. Good luck, R. Frist
