Any other issues with a 2000 9-3 hatchback? I don't think problems with the turbo are very common. If you are in the USA, you get a 4/50 warranty bumper to bumper warranty that is very good, so there's not too much to worry about. >The dealer wants $19k for one with 24,000 miles and a manual >transmission. Check the factory options, make sure you are comparing apples to apples on the model and options. Aside from that, there are not many possible differences. There's not much that you can do to a car to raise the price $4k unless... stuff like audio equipment, fancy wheels, etc just doesn't make much difference in the price - at least not $4k worth. Some dealers like to start high so that when they get down to retail, the customer is excited. Be assured that the dealer did not pay more than trade-in value, if that. Even if they show you some paperwork that indicates otherwise, they made it up on the other end of the sale. It also could be a lease or similar that the dealer bought at an auction - where they typically pay even less. Get a carfax subscription and check it there too. You can learn a lot after reading a few dozen carfax reports and learning to read between the lines. Bob
