In practice that's close to the way I use mine. I even change my subscription (and number) regularly to lose the people who got a hold of my number anyway. I never understood why people want to keep their numbers. Close family, friends and business relations have my number. I've learned that I can put out small fires with a quick phone call that would otherwise have cost me a lot more trouble to sort out and would have done a lot of damage. I consider myself to be very reachable, if not for anyone... You're hardly original, though. I have many friends who pride themselves on being unreachable and often don't even carry a phone (which is an act of rebellion in Europe where even 9 year olds carry their own phones). That can be a bit inconvenient if you're unable to keep an appointment and would like to spare them an hour-long wait... X.
