I'm turning to you folks for help on further diagnosing my no-start condition on my 93 Saab 9000 (2.4L non-turbo). I shut down the other day to go shopping and when I got back it wouldn't start. On the first attemp it started but stumbled and died. The next few tries were the same, then it would just fire, and then it wouldn't even do that. I'm almost certain it's a fuel related problem (I here the DI casette buzzing so I don't think it's ignition). The fuel system and pump relays check out OK. I'd like to check the pump by applying 12V directly to it to see if it starts. There are 4 wires at the pump - a thin black and a thin white, and a thick black and thick grey/white stripe. Does anyone know what the wires are for and what voltages I should read on them?? Also, if I want apply power to the pump, which wires do I use (and what's the polarity). ALSO, does anyone know of a reasonable source for the pump!!! ANY HELP WELCOME. Thanks, -- Joseph P.
