In article <5qcfiv8m8e09umvnege013agnjg693gu68nopsamcom>, nelfrikandelnopsamail.com says... > Cheeeez. I guess you could say the recesion is hitting the UK a lot > less than mainland Yurp... I keep hearing of old buddies having to > hand in their company cars & getting sacked... Myself being unemployed > for 10 months now, I'm starting to fear if I don't find something real > quick, my 95 9000 has to go! Leaving me a bike and the wife's station > wagon outside her working hours to get around :-((( > These are all privatley owned cars. The boss owns his Ferrari, but bought it used. He save money by not giving us a pay rise for the last 2 years. The M3 and Boxster at our place are owned by sales men. One lost his license for two years, and saved all his commisions and bonuses unitl he got it back to buy a Boxster. The M3 guy comes from an old money. I think he works here, just so he won't be out losing his license . The Network guy's 9K used to be the bosses, something like a 92 Aero, My 900 is a 1984 £300GBP bit of a clunker, that just happens to be an Aero. Basically solid, but all the things are starting to go wrong at the same time. So far since February, 4 tyres, one wheel bearing, one track rod end, one CV boot, Both front calipers, both front discs, and Pads all round, a new electric arial, and an electric window winder quadrant. I reckon Ball joints or CVs will be next to go, but my local mechanic described one of the rear bearings as, "A bit dry, but it is a £250 job, do you want to leave it until it actually goes", so I wouldn't bet against that happening. Oh and I foudn a spot of rear inner arch welding that had started to eat through the outer edge of the arch behind the Aero panel. Thaht was the cheapest job to put right. Oh and us developer and techs like me and the Network boss don't get commisions and bonuses either. -- The poster formerly known as Skodapilot. http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
