Automobile Magazine, September 2004. GM is using the epsilon platform for the hatchless Saab NG 9-3, Opel Vectra, and Chevy Malibu. Interestingly, Chevy will introduce (in January, 2004) the hatchback Malibu MAXX (estimated $18-25,000)! Within the same issue, the "new" 9-3 convertible is listed as one of the "50 Hottest New Cars" (shown in metallic pea-green). Both the 9-2 Saab-aru and the 9-7 Chevy-based Saab SUV are listed as "in development". Saab production targets are claimed to be 200,000 units by 2005 (up from 120,000 units). And there is already talk about second generation 9-2's and 9-7's where Trollhattan actually provides significant input (engine & suspension). -- J.E. Harris '01 9-3 SE '97 900 SE '88 9000T R.I.P.
