Newer cars have HID systems. Don't be fooled by cheap imitations that claim you can just replace your bulbs, you need a whole system with transformers and all. Cost exceeds $500 last I checked for aftermarket stuff. Those blue headlights you see are no better than regular white headlights. In fact, blue light is actually worse for vision according to what I read. The HID's are bluish but much brighter but the imitators are just bluish. There are brighter bulbs you can get for your conventional headlights. In most cases they use more watts and generate more heat. So, while you can put in 100 watt bulbs, your reflectors and wiring might melt. I think the best solution might be to use _driving_ lights as suggested (not fog, driving). All the extra light you need and still highly controllable - you can switch them off in the city, on in the country. Check with Hella for some quality lights. Bob
