Really depends - if it's just a damaged rubber coupling, then it's a £10 ($15) part, and half an hour's work. OTOH, if the linkage is bent, it will depend on what's bent, the gear shifter end or the gearbox end - this could run into £100s. If you're not inclined to have a look yourself, the only way you will progess this is by getting someone else to take a look. It's impossible to further diagnose it online. Good luck.
