I did, but the books I read have a lot more words than the few that I posted here earlier. I'm not sure I have enough to say about a week in Sweden and Norway that would fill any kind of book worth reading. I'll stick to posting suitable information to suitable forums. Many people here know me, my car, my planned trip to Trollhattan (and the other places we intended to visit) and will be interested to read my initial postings upon my return home. My content did in fact match my posted subject heading. My content detailed my "Scandinavian holiday" and "included" the "Saab Museum". Where I deviated from simply posting Saab content, such as my experiences of Norway, was because that part of the trip was suggested by someone here. That someone is a person who I do not communicate with through other channels, except for the occasional e-mail. That person is not someone I feel I cannot simply e-mail directly, posting something that is quite broad in subject. That is why I included such content in my overall post. What I posted was, yes, intended as a broad summary of my recent trip to Sweden and Norway. It also contained some quite personal comment to others who frequent this newsgroup that had asked specific questions of me or who had wished me well from my previous postings. Those people are people with which I share a common love of Saabs and, possibly, very little else; hence the posting to alt.autos.saab rather than alt.friends.of.paul.halliday! I must state that I was bemused by your response and did wonder, briefly, whether I had said something out of turn. It was to "V" word, wasn't it? I'll say it again then. "Volvo" :) I usually find it polite to search through past postings before making such a response. My searches showed that you have made no contribution to alt.autos.saab at all. Is this really the best you can do as your first post to this newsgroup? If you had read back through alt.autos.saab, you would have found that I have been excited about this trip for some time and have posted my intentions here before. I have been posting here for a couple of years now and have enjoyed the humour and have benefited from the wealth of knowledge here. I'm not saying that I'm better than you because of that. I'm saying that I have made a contribution to the wealth of experience that is contained in this newsgroup and can be called upon by anyone who has even the most vague understanding of search engines. When I have put my foot in my mouth (usually after drinking too much, rather than through direct malice), I have found that a self-imposed period of exile is the right thing to do. An apology goes a long way as well. I hope people here enjoyed my "essay". The other sources on the internet of the Saab/Trollhattan experience have not made mention of the town. I did find the town to be as much a part of the Saab experience as the museum and I was very pleased to have sat at my hotel window drinking a beer and counting over 60 classic 900s that passed before having a shower and going out for the evening. I enjoyed seeing all sorts of Saabs that were not in the museum by simply strolling around the town. That statement is my own contribution to anyone visiting Trollhattan hereafter.
